The Armenian-American writer and actress, also known as Arshaluys Martikian, survived the genocide but was forced to start a new life in the United States. Ruben Vardanyan&#8217;s wife Veronica Zonabend participated in the opening ceremony of the monument.<\/p>\r\n\r\n\r\n\r\n<p>The foreground of the monument portrays young Aurora who \u201cdefeated death and told her story to the world, becoming a symbol of survival for future generations\u201d.
